Neat

First off, love the bass, very well done with the bass... it may be simple but it is powerful. Also, whatever synth you used sounds really cool with the reverb on it. Overall this was well done.. a good concept, a good start. There are several things that need work, however. For instance, the drums. The drums work... at least for a little bit. But they need more. Add a snare. Make the drums vary more. Also, the song as a whole gets repetitive (mostly that synth). You need to come up with other parts of the song, and make each of the parts vary more. What I mean by vary is change. Repetition is good BUT only to a degree. too much repetition and your audience loses interest.

Again, very well done. And you say you didn't put that much effort into it... Well, YOU SHOULD! :D There is so much potential here, you need to put all your effort into it. Trust me, the results will shock even you.

I'm using the demo so there isn't really much I can do now that I've closed the file. Thanks a lot for the review, means a lot, and I'll definitely take what you said into consideration.

Nice

I love the drums... throughout the entire song they don't cease to impress. I also enjoyed the bass. The melodies and counter melodies are very catchy and your instrument choice is quite phenomenal- it's obvious that they were carefully selected. I see exactly what you mean by the contrasting emotions created by each part...But....

What needs improvement is TRANSITIONS. There are virtually no transitions between the main parts. This makes the song confusing and causes disunion in the song. This can confuse listeners and it also makes the song less smooth and it kills the flow.

What I would suggest is either creating transitions between these parts or splitting them into two separate songs. I don't feel that the parts blend too well together, so I would suggest the latter.

What you have here is EXCELLENT MUSIC. You obviously have a talent for making amazing drums, amazing melodies, catchy bass, and overall addictive music. The lack of transitions kills that. You need to fix this, because I LOVE both of the strongly emotionally swaying parts you made here.

Great job

Nice

I like how the quiet peaceful sounds really compliment the somewhat gritty bass and percussion. It makes the song feel very unified. This was really well done. There's great percussion throughout, and the bassline is very catchy. In my opinion, the piano really completes this piece.

There's not a whole lot I have to suggest for this besides varying the bassline a little more (I know it is typical for a DnB to be repetitive, but still some varience is nice). Also I want to know what the drums would sound like with some reverb.

Overall, extemely well done.

I like

This is a really unique sound I have not heard from anything else. Very well done, the instrument selection is excellent. I like this... you need to finish it!

gotta love slap

I like the slap bass. Overall well done, but the sound quality is kind of a let down.

Deserves a better score

This is a really nice relaxing piece. The only thing i think it needs is maybe more of a leading melody. But on the other hand that would take away from the overall relaxing theme of the song. So yeah, I believe this song deserves a higher rating. People should not rate low without leaving some kind of useful criticism. Good job.

Wow

Great idea! I don't think I've ever heard a jazz rendition of Zelda or any Nintendo game for that matter.

I think you did a fantastic job on this.

Then listen to my Mario Jazz mix.

Nice guitar

I like this, it's catchy! I agree, those are some funky leads, very fitting. It can be a little overwhelming some times, so maybe if you turned down the volume just a tad bit on the gutiar it would sound great!

Metaljonus responds:

Thanks guy, I can understand why its a little overwhelming in some parts. Its pretty much improve on some of the parts later in the track. I'll be sure to turn the guitars down a little thanks.

Great job!

I really like this. I agree it does kind of tell a story. The whole thing flows pretty well, and the instruments go great together.

Might I ask what you made this in?

ChrisisD responds:

Thanks! I use Reason 4 for all my songs. It's easy to learn, hard to master ;) I keep on learning about samples and about all the posibilities every day. (And I got a database of aprox 40 gb ^^)
